Mr. Schwartz moves on to D.O. Ms. Meltzer new Principal

As we start the 2015-16 school year we say goodbye to Mr. Schwartz. He was MHS principal for 18 1/2 years, plus many more years as a teacher and boys and girls basketball coach. We will miss him and thank him for all his support in athletics. We also welcome back Ms. Meltzer as our

Softball captures another League Title

The Oiler softball team finished league play with an undefeated league record of 9-0. GO OILERS!

Andrew Jimenez gives Montebello Oilers Varsity late push to beat Bell Gardens, 6-4

Andrew Jimenez drove in the winning run to give Montebello Oilers Varsity the lead in the sixth inning, as Montebello Oilers Varsity hung on to beat Bell Gardens 6-4 on Friday.Richard Santoscoy singled to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to third on an RBI double by Justin DeLeon.Jimenez racked up three RBIs

Romero’s complete game shutout vs. Schurr puts Oilers in 1st.

Senior Jonathan Romero pitched a complete game shutout vs. arch town rival Schurr. With the win the Oilers are 4-0 and in sole possession of 1st place. Schurr and Alhambra are each one game behind. Next up for the Oilers is Alhambra at home on 4/7.

Boys’ Volleyball start 2-0 in league.

MHS Boys Varsity Volleyball Team goes 2-0 in the first week of Almont League competition. The Oilers played The Almont League defending champion Bell Gardens in a tough 5 game match. 13-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 15-11. Congratulations to Nathan Reynaga, Daniel Gardea, and Jesus Castro Rangel (pictured left to right). Each of these young men were honored as “Scholar Athletes” at the 52nd National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Los Angeles Chapter Awards Banquet on March 13th.  They were selected for their outstanding academic and athletic achievement,  leadership skills,


CONGRATULATIONS TO NICO GOMEZ   106 POUND CIF-SS WRESTLING   CHAMPION.   He’s the first wrestler in school history to go back to back. He’ll be wrestling this Friday and Saturday in the Masters Meet at Citizen’s Bank Arena in Ontario. Good Luck Nico!!
