The Varsity Volleyball Team headed to their first Tournament of the year hosted by San Gabriel. Friday night the Oilers went 2-1 beating Garey and El Camino Real but falling to Burbank in 3 sets. The Oilers Varsity Volleyball drops a five game match to a scrappy El Rancho Dons team. The Oilers won the first game 25-20. The Oilers lose the 2nd and 3rd games 23-25,15-25. The 4th game the Oilers fought back to win 25-19. In the 5th game the Oilers were up15-14 but could not close the
JV Boys Volleyball Team defeated La Serna 2-1. The Oilers took first set (25-18) then lost the 2nd set (25-27). The Oilers showed lots of grit in the 3rd game and squeaked out a win (15-13). Frosh/Soph lost in 2 straight.
Montebello Oilers defeat the La Serna Lancers 3-1 at Montebello’s season opener. Captain Jacoub Rios led the Oilers with 11 kills and 7 blocks.
